My favourite home cooked food

When NPD asked consumers an open-ended question about how they define "home-cooked food," four themes emerged: Home-cooked meals are made from scratch, made at home, made from fresh or raw ingredients and made personally.

  1. Dosa and sambar

A dosa is a thin batter-based dish (usually crispy) from South India, made from a fermented batter predominantly consisting of lentils and rice. Its main ingredients are rice and black gram ground together in a delicate, smooth batter with a dash of salt, then fermented. The Historical Dictionary of Indian Food by Late Food Historian KT Achaya describes Sambar as "a fairly thick spicy extract of tuvar dal soured with tamarind, frequently containing soft vegetables like brinjal, drumstick, gourd and lady's finger." Sambar can be consumed along with idli, dosa, or rice.

  2. Aloo paratha

Aloo paratha is a paratha stuffed with potatoes from South Asia's Punjab region. It is traditionally eaten for breakfast. It is made using unleavened dough rolled with mashed potato and spices, cooked on a hot tawa with butter or ghee. Parathas are one of the most popular unleavened flatbreads in the Indian subcontinent, made by baking or cooking whole-wheat dough on a Tava and finishing with shallow-frying.

  3. Paneer tikka

Paneer tikka is an Indian dish made from chunks of paneer marinated in spices and grilled in a tandoor. It is a vegetarian alternative to chicken tikka and other meat dishes. It is a popular dish widely available in India and countries with an Indian diaspora. Paneer tikka is an Indian dish made from chunks of paneer marinated in spices and grilled in a tandoor. THESE ARE SOME OF MY MOST FAVOURITE FOOD ITEMS. I LIKE HOME COOKED FOOD VERY MUCH.
